Gardaí issue warning over scam calls targeting Kilkenny residents

Gardaí are warning the public about scam calls from people pretending to be members of An Garda Síochána.

Gardaí have reported a number of callers to the local station about scammers who claim there’s suspicious activity linked to the persons identification and asks them for personal details.

A spokesperson stressed they will never ask for such information over the phone.

If you receive one of these calls, the advice is do not engage, do not share any details, and hang up immediately.

Anyone who encounters this scam is urged to report it to their local Garda station.
