Gardaí say investigations are ongoing in relation to an incident at a Carlow home last month after which the injured person has since died.
Emergency services were called to the residence on Bridge Street in Graiguecullen shortly after 6am on Thursday, 26th March.
A woman aged in her fifties was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital for Carlow and Kilkenny before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment of serious injuries.
She subsequently died last Friday, 10th April.
The Coroner’s been notified and a post-mortem examination carried out.
A man aged in his forties was arrested in connection with the garda investigation and initially detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He’s since been released and a file’s being prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
