Gardai warn of debris on local roads following overnight storm

The storm may have passed but care is still needed on our roads this morning.

High winds and heavy ran has left debris on many local routes with Gardai warning secondary roads are particularly bad with fallen leaves and branches.

Carlow and Kilkenny may not have been the worst affected with homes in Wicklow and Wexford still without electricity this morning.

However we did still get our share of the storm – more than 25 mm of rain fell while carlowweather.com says winds peaked at 83.7 kilometres an hour in Tullow around 1am this morning.

Kilkenny weather recorded a gust of 65.9 kilometres just after 9.30pm last night.
