Starting the show was a wide ranging interview with Joe Healy President of the IFA. Needless to say Brexit figured highly, but Matt also discussed the live export trade, fertilizer prices and EU Commission attempts to re-align the food chain margins.
Barry Caslin, Crops and Energy Specialist with Teagasc and Michael Somers, Forester and Forestry Advisor with Teagasc spoke with Matt about energy in agriculture, a very topical issue within the farming community. James Murphy of the IFA also joined in the conversation giving the association’s perspective and called for a land survey as part of the fullest debate.
