The Farm Show

Glanbia Farm Show – 30/11/2017 (Inc. Kilkenny Lions Club Auction)

Tonight’s show was a bit freer in nature with a number of issues discussed by our panel; joining us was Phil Purcell, a dairy farmer from Kilmanagh, County Kilkenny, a speaker at a recent dairy conference who spoke about the management of the expected heavy workloads for the upcoming spring; Conor Gallinagh, a Donegal native and Horticultural Technician at Kildalton College, speaking about the perhaps unseen psychological benefits of gardening and nature; Martin Cole from Carlow, the winner of the Sheep category at the Farmer Of The Year competition also joined us, speaking about his win and the current state of the sheep trade.

We had our weekly Farm Diary sponsored by Tullow Mart and Michael Lynch joined us for this week’s Mart Report from Kilkenny.

All through the programme we were joined by members of Kilkenny Lions Club who were around to run the annual Farm Auction (bids and other details will not apply as the auction was live). The second Farm Auction will take place on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.
