Tonight’s show was a bit freer in nature again with a number of issues discussed by our panel; joining us in studio was Tomás Turley who has recently retired from Teagasc as a Dairy Adviser; we heard about some upcoming events from John Moloney of Teagasc; also joining us was PJ O’Keeffe, the winner of the Young Farmer Of The Year award for 2017.
Topics discussed tonight were: changes in the dairy sector in the past 3o years, including earlier turnout and the increasing emphasis on environmental care; achieving a reasonable work/life balance and the need for a properly diverse agricultural industry in the light of changing market needs.
We had our weekly Farm Diary sponsored by Tullow Mart and George Candler joined us for this week’s Mart Report from Kilkenny.
All through the programme we were joined by members of Kilkenny Lions Club who were around to run the second of the annual Farm Auctions (bids and other details will not apply as the auction was live on the night).
