Another very busy Glanbia Farm Show with fewer regular features this week as we host the annual Lions Club Farm Auction which assists the work of St. Vincent De Paul in Kilkenny. George Candler and Eddie Holohan joined us on the programme tonight and many items were sold.
Julian Hughes, Agronomist, Tillage farmer and vegetable grower joined us to talk about tillage sector, vegetable growing, especially the new crop of Pumpkins. Noel Dunne, Machinery Editor of the Irish Farmers Monthly
was very busy and spoke about the Tractor of the Year 2017, new models of machinery, precision farming using GPS and autoguide systems, machinery and tractor sales trends and the impact of Brexit on machinery sales. Also
Austin Finn, land mobility officer with Macra na Feirme spoke with us about land leases, farm partnerships, novel farming co-operations, inheritance and generational transfers of farms.
