Glanbia Farm Show – 8/6/2017

First tonight on the show, Oonagh O’ Mahony, editor of the international magazine “Irish Food” spoke with Matt and gave an insight into the progress of Irish food exports. She outlined the planned expansion of food exports over the next five years and explained the potential to grow market share as well as the development of new markets for Irish food products, especially in the dairy and whiskey sectors.

Teagasc is holding a National Milk Quality Farm Walk on the farm of Tom and Jim Power, Ballymullala, Cappagh, Co. Waterford on Wednesday June 14th at 2.00 p.m. in association with the National Dairy Council and Glanbia. The Powers won the National Milk Quality Award in 2016. John Moloney is Regional Manager with Teagasc and he spoke with Martin Bridgeman about the award and the reasons why the Powers were successful in the awards.

It has been twelve years since Matt first met Niall O’ Reilly, the Cavan man who saw the potential for zero grazing in this country. Since then Niall has developed a very successful business including a manufacturing facility for his Zero Grazer machines based in his home county.
