Good news for Carlow as funding for Town announced

There’s been more good news for Carlow today.

€150,000 in funding has been secured to help improve Carlow Town in terms of its physical appearance.

Its hoped to revitalise the town centre to enhance its appeal as a place to work and live.

Acting Chief Executive of Carlow County council Dan McInerney says it’s been a good week in terms of positive announcements for the town.

“Minister Damien English announced that we were getting further funding for 26 houses in Graiguecullen and that was following the opening of 10 houses at Fr Flood Avenue, Rathvilly by the Minister on Wednesday. It’s always good to get announcements of more money, particularly in a situation where we are finding things very difficult from a budgetary point of view. It was an extremely difficult path to bring in a budget for this year and we’re facing a similar situation again for 2018.”
