Fears that a long-established Kilkenny store was set to close have proven unfounded.
Vivienne Good has confirmed to KCLR News that Goods on High Street is not shutting its doors despite an article appearing online to suggest it was.
The confusion arose after a concession within the store, Quiz, entered liquidation and announced its own closure with a sign in the shop window.
Mr Good says it remains committed to Kilkenny and is preparing to celebrate 100 years in operation next year.
“I’m happy to tell you that it’s a mistake. We’re staying in High Street and better than that, we’ll be celebrating our 100th year from 1927 to next year. So we’re looking forward to celebrating that and looking forward. So I’m happy to tell you we’re still here.”
