There’s growing speculation that local Fianna Fail Deputy John McGuinness could be Ceann Comhairle in the next Dail.
The position will be decided by a secret ballot when members of the 32nd Dail gather at Leinster House next Thursday.
Bagenalstown Fianna Fail Councillor Arthur McDonald says he doesnt think that a vote would affect McGuinness’s chances of getting the role.
