More than half a million euro has been granted to improve local roads

More than half a million euro has been granted between Kilkenny and Carlow for a scheme to improve rural laneways.
The Local Improvement Scheme was re-launched a number of weeks ago, having been stalled for the last few years.
The deadline for the county councils to submit applications has passed but the Taoiseach has now revealed what money each local authority will be getting.
Carlow is to get €250,000, while Kilkenny will get €315,000.
