There’s a risk of heavy showers in Carlow and Kilkenny today (Sunday), although the Status Yellow rain warnings remain in place further west and south, according to Met Éireann.
Motorists locally are being advised to watch for surface water and reduced visibility at times.
Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather says brighter, more settled conditions are expected to develop early next week.
“We have some very strong winds this evening, especially moving across the country, but after this evening, we will start seeing improvement on our weather.” said Alan.
“Some showers for Monday, and Tuesday then looks like the first full dry day for the entire country that we’ve seen in 2026.” he added.
