The way has been cleared for the long-awaited Dunnes Stores development at Ferrybank Shopping Centre after Waterford City and County Council withdrew its High Court judicial review earlier today.
The court also awarded costs to Kilkenny County Council. Deputy Chief Executive Tim Butler says the decision vindicates the council’s planning process and removes months of uncertainty for the developer.
He says the new store will be a major boost for Ferrybank and the wider region, providing a much-needed retail development and helping to strengthen the shopping centre as a community hub.
