It’s hoped a new distillery in Carlow could be up and running by March.
Work began at Walsh Whiskey’s new facility at Royal Oak last year with copper pots and steel distilling equipment installed back in November.
Commissioning begins this month and it’s expected everything should be in working order by March.
However the official ribbon-cutting ceremony won’t take place until the 21st of June.
Bagenalstown Councillor Arthur McDonald says it’s great news and it looks like it’s happy times for Carlow.
