Carlow and Waterford Institutes of Technology will share management of a new University for the South East.
KCLR news revealed last week that the first hurdle in the bid to set up a Technological University for the region had been overcome.
Today its emerged that the historic agreement between IT Carlow and Waterford IT was signed this week by the Chairmen and Presidents of each.
It says there wont be a traditional headquarters or a main campus – instead management will be shared between the 2 local Institutes of Technology.
They are working together now on a business plan for the new university which will be submitted to the Higher Education Authority early next year.
