History made as Fianna fail and Fine Gael share power in Kilkenny chamber

An historic deal to seize control in Kilkenny County Council has been struck between members of Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.

The council met for the first time on Friday where the 24 newly elected members chose Fianna Fails Pat Millea as Cathaoirleach.

Councillor Andrew McGuinness says that long talks were required to strike a deal between the two parties.
