A local hotel owner says Kilkenny’s hospitality sector is bouncing back, with strong visitor numbers and busy bookings across the city’s festivals and events calendar.
Ian Brennan was speaking as the Club House on Patrick Street, Kilkennys oldest hotel continues its multi-phase renovation.
The city’s busy events programme, from major food festivals to arts and cultural weekends, continues to help drive tourism and footfall, boosting hotel stays and dining out across the city centre.
Mr Brennan says Irish hospitality has always been strong and that Kilkenny’s mix of historic charm, lively events and quality guest experiences is once again drawing visitors in good numbers.
“We do a very good job of it in Ireland, you know, and we have lots of people that come from all over the world, you know, and we’re very lucky in Kilkenny that, you know, we have such a
fantastic city here and so many things for people to come and visit and people love to visit Kilkenny, both from outside Ireland and from within Ireland, so we’re very lucky in that sense.” said Ian.
