House building is on the rise again locally.
According to the latest National Housing construction index both Carlow and Kilkenny have seen dramatic jumps in the first 2 months of this year.
In fact compared with 2013 house building in Carlow was up 233 percent in Carlow and 133 percent in Kilkenny in January and February.
Planning applications are up 22 percent in Kilkenny but they are down in Carlow with a drop of 14 percent.
