The Housing Minister will turn the sod on 2 local housing projects today.
Minister Eoghan Murphy will oversee the start of work on homes at Father Flood Avenue in Rathvilly and in Donaguile in Castlecomer this afternoon.
He also plans to open new houses in Urlingford later.
While 26 families are getting the keys to a new development in Sleaty Street in Graiguecullen funded by the charity Clúid Housing.
Though the Minister’s visit is welcomed, local councillors have a strong message for him.
Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny county council Eamon Aylward says while it’s great to see sods being turned & sites being visited the focus needs to be on increasing the number of homes.
