The HSE is inviting people to workshops this week in Kilkenny which aims to help adults needing support with decisions about their future.
They’re being held in the Newpark Hotel on Thursday and Friday.
Organised by the health body’s South East Safeguarding team and the Decision Support Service, the “Advance Planning” sessions start with a public information evening on Thursday from 6 to 7pm focusing on how people can plan ahead.
It will outline the practical steps needed to create an Enduring Power of Attorney.
On Friday, there’ll be one-to-one helpdesk sessions from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
The Decision Support Service (DSS) provides an essential service for people who face difficulties and need support exercising their decision-making capacity.
This may include, but is not limited to, people with an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, mental health difficulty or dementia.
This also includes all people who want to plan for a time when they might lose their capacity.
