Hundreds of families in Carlow and Kilkenny are availing of food parcels each week.
The initiative started in Carlow last November and demand has grown steadily there while the Capuchin Friars in Kilkenny started handing out groceries to locals 5 weeks ago.
Fr Sean O Donohue says there’s lots of people really struggling.
Fr John Dunphy in Graiguecullen says a huge number of volunteers have come forward to help since they started up in Carlow late last year.
