The inclement weather has delayed works on the new home of Cois Nore in Kilkenny.
The local cancer support centre held its major annual fundraising run in the Castle Park yesterday with hundreds turning out to take part in the event.
Funds raised are vital for the services and supports that will be offered when they move to their new premises on the Waterford Road.
Cois Nore Chairman Dr. Bill Cuddihy remains hopeful that will happen before Spring is out: “The weather’s been so awful in the last couple of weeks that it has held it up, I’d say, by about a month.”
“So having said that, Eugene Foley, the builder, hopes to be out of it by the end of February and then between the jigs and the reels and getting completion starts and everything done and getting everything into it and getting ready, I would say it’ll be the end of March, beginning of April, by the time we’re in there.”
