Husband of late Susie Long rejects White Paper on Universal Health Insurance

The husband of the late Susie Long has branded the Health Ministers white paper on Universal health insurance as a sham.

Conor MacLiam says James Reilly is promising that everyone will be equal when it comes to waiting lists under his plans for a single tier system but he says thats not the case.

He says the call that Susie made back in 2007 for ‘a patient-centred, first class public health system is not what is being delivered.

And he says the profit motive needs to taken out of health care.
