Iceland’s Bardarbunga volcano remains poised to erupt, with an evacuation order still in force for an area to the north.
Yesterday, authorities evacuated hundreds of tourists from the area north of the country’s largest glacier amid increased seismic activity around the volcano.
Roads in the area have been closed over fears an eruption could lead to serious flooding, and airlines have been warned to prepare for disruption if the volcano begins to spew ash into the atmosphere.
