Independent Kilkenny Councillor concedes that County Manager followed procedure but wont apologise

The acting head of Kilkenny county council won’t be getting an apology from Independent Councillor Breda Gardner unless he says sorry to her first.

Councillor Gardner has conceded that John Mulholland followed the correct procedure in informing council members about the plans to commence work on the new Central Access Scheme bridge.

A motion calling for work there to be suspended was defeated yesterday.

But Councillor Gardner is adamant that the Chief executive of the council should have spoken to the members about the works.
