International travel resumes with roll out of EU Digital Covid Cert

Non-essential international travel is allowed from today for the first time in 16 months, as Ireland rolls-out the EU Digital Covid Certificate.

Aer Lingus and Ryanair have both ramped up their schedules and more than 22 thousand people are expected to pass through Dublin Airport today.

Fully vaccinated people, those recently recovered from Covid-19 or those who can present a negative test are allowed travel around the European Union.

A helpline is open to assist with issues over the EU Digital Covid Certificate and to ask for a recovery cert.

The helpline number is 1800 851 504.
