International Women's Day events held across Carlow and Kilkenny

“International Women’s Day” is being celebrated today.

Events are taking place across Carlow and Kilkenny including a candle ceremony & talks on the Lady Desart Bridge in Kilkenny City.

MEP and Kilkenny woman Phil Prendergast says the topic of gender quotas in politics is big at the moment, she says that people should be picked for their ability rather than sex.
