A man has died following a road traffic collision in Waterford city.
It happened at around 10:45 this morning and involved a car and an e-scooter at the junction of Bunker’s Hill and Hennessy’s Road.
The e-scooter rider, a man in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford where he was later pronounced dead, while the car driver, a man in his 80s, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene and road remain closed with diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on Manor Hill (Bunker’s Hill) and Hennessy’s Road between 10.45am and 11.15am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
