Irish Guide Dogs offer all their training free of charge but there's not been a strong uptake locally

Anyone with in Carlow Kilkenny is being invite to apply for a guide dog.

Irish Guide Dogs offer all their training free of charge but there’s not been a strong uptake locally.

There are currently 379 people who are registered blind in Carlow and Kilkenny, but only 8 people have Guide Dogs.

There’s five guide dogs in Carlow but 144 blind people registered.

In Kilkenny there’s 235 people registered and eligible for a free guide dog but only 3 have taken up the service.
