The ISPCA is investigating reports that three dogs were found dead behind a Carlow housing estate.
Images have surfaced on social media showing what appears to be the bodies of a German Shepherd, a terrier cross and her pup on disused land behind Barnfield Court.
Two of the dogs were reportedly found in plastic bags while the third seemed to be weighted down in water.
The ISPCA has confirmed to KCLR that it has been notified while Gardai are also understood to be investigating.
