IT Carlow lecturers take to the picket lines this morning

Lecturers at IT Carlow take to the picket lines today.

The demonstration has been organised by the TUI in protest at a number of issues including cutbacks, underfunding, and low staffing levels.

4,000 lecturers in the 14 Institutes of Technology are taking part in today’s strike which is also supported by the Union of Students in Ireland.

Chris O’Byrne, secretary of IT Carlow’s TUI told KCLR news that staff are being stretched.
