Paul’s Department Store are celebrating 100 years in existence this year and are running a series of events to mark the occasion.
Michelle Harding is 4th generation to work in the store and spoke about how her Grandfather and Uncle added and pieced together the store that is there today…
The Head Buyer and Manager of Paul’s says “It’s a it’s a very good institution and we’ve employed a lot of people throughout the years and we have some very loyal staff members as well that are there, you know, between 35 and 40 odd years with us”.
“It’s amazing to have that as well, and then you know through that and you just have you work together and it’s been, the community that have bought in store and continue to buy in store because that’s so important nowadays because there’s so much competition on line. Two people to come in store for our high streets to stay exactly the way that they are and to have those bricks and mortar stores are so important to get the experience with those and it’s important to come to towns and to come into the stores and see them and then so that those institutions like ourselves can continue to be there throughout the years for the community”.
