A local councillor and general election candidate says the anti-water charges movement is very much alive and well.
Sinn Féin’s Kathleen Funchion will be speaking in Carlow, at one of the many marches and protests organised for today.
Right2Water Kilkenny and Carlow are joining forces this afternoon and will be meeting at the Liberty Tree in Carlow from 1.30.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of the demonstration, Councillor Funchion says she doesn’t believe figures from Irish Water showing an increased number of people paying the charges are entirely truthful.
