Kepak closure couldn't come at a worse time – Carlow IFA Chairman

The closing of the Kepak plant in Carlow could not have come at a worse time according to IFA Carlow Chairman Derek Deane.

The sheep processing plant will close on March 6th in the middle of lambing season.

Derek Deane says the option to transport new lambs from the Hacketstown plant to Kepak’s plant in Athleague in Roscommon isn’t the most suitable option.
