Kilkenny archaeologist 'surprised & disappointed' with latest reports on Vicar Street houses
A local archaeologist opposed to plans for the Central Access Scheme says they were ‘surprised & disappointed’ with the contents of the latest reports on the Vicar Street houses.
In a statement to KCLR Coilín o Drisceoil says ‘the reports contain little by way of new evidence and their conclusions can only be described as peculiar and speculative’.
The reports released by the council yesterday concluded the the houses at 21 and 22 Vicar Street are not medieval structures.
It paves the way for the buildings to be dismantled now to make way for the Central Access Scheme.
