Kilkenny auctioneer taking bids on items owned by famous Guinness family

A Kilkenny auctioneer is taking bids on items owned by Ireland’s famous Guinness family today.

Nearly 750 items from Furness House in Naas will go under the hammer of Fonsie Mealy Auctioneers before the day is out

George Fonsie Mealy told KCLR News the importance of the Guinness family in Irish history shouldn’t be underestimated.

And he says this is not the first time the local auction house has sold items on their behalf.
