The first ever national programme to prevent injuries to young GAA players has launched at IT Carlow this morning.

The local institute has joined forces with the GAA to deliver the programme which will focus specifically on hurlers & gaelic footballers between the ages of 13 and 18.

Clare Lodge who lectures at IT Carlow and has worked with the Kilkenny senior hurling team in the past is leading the research programme.
