Kilkenny beat Galway for their 70th Leinster title

Kilkennys Senior hurlers lifted their 70th Leinster title in Croke Park yesterday after defeating Galway 1-25 to 2-15 in a thriller in Croke Park.

Kilkenny led by 3 points at half time despite a stunning goal by Galway’s Joe canning three minutes before the break.

Galway got back to within three points in the final ten minutes but TJ Reid’s catch from Eoin Murphy’s puck out set up Hogan for a crucial score and they kicked for home after that.

Man of the match TJ Reid scored 1-9 on the day for cats as they put in a big second half performance to run out 7 point winners in the end.

They wont be in action again now until August the 9th in the All Ireland semi finals.
