Kilkenny Castle has temporarily closed to the public.
The Office of Public Works has shut the doors on the most visited attraction locally from today until Friday while essential conservation, maintenance and upgrade works are carried out.

The parklands however remain open and can still be used.
Meanwhile, you’ll see the historic building lit up red to mark International Kawasaki Disease Awareness Day.
