Protestors of the Central Access Scheme in Kilkenny City are facing a High Court injunction of they keep blocking the building site.
Kilkenny County Council gave them notice today asking them to cease and desist from blocking access to the construction site.
Demonstrators have been camping out there day and night where a new bridge is to be built over the River Nore.
It’s warned them if they don’t comply with this request that the council intends to apply to the High Court for an injunction to restrain them from continuing to block the access points.
Disappointed protestors were taken by surprise early this morning when Gardai arrived to escort up to 8 vehicles carrying the pile driving equipment onto the site in Greensbridge.
