The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Kilkenny city and surrounds is the focus of a Town Hall meeting later today.
The gathering’s been organised by Kilkenny Chamber President Claire McInerney Brown to discuss the SUMP which aims to introduce measures relating to how individuals move in, through and around the city and its environs. (More here).
Street design, public transport and safer walking, cycling, car, and delivery truck infrastructure all play a part in making Kilkenny a more vibrant, accessible, healthier, and sustainable city for everyone with a number of its recommendations already implemented.
Now Ms McInerney Brown has arranged for officials from the County Council to outline the next stages – she says; ‘The SUMP is a critical element of future planning for Kilkenny City, and it is important that as many members as possible engage with the process. I’m grateful to the officers from Kilkenny County Council who will attend on Monday evening, and I encourage all Chamber members to participate’.
The meeting takes place from 5pm in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel, registration to attend is free – you can email [email protected] or ‘phone 089 2553585.
