A Kilkenny city building’s been confirmed as an accommodation provider for people under international protection.
28 beds in 14 rooms are to be provided at Riverview House, the former John’s Hall, at the Windy Gap on the Dublin Road with a contract signed for one year.
The building had previously been discounted by the county council for housing and a bid to use it for retail also failed.
Deputy John McGuinness says he and other representatives had a briefing confirming this in the last week but he can’t understand why re the people of the area haven’t been updated.
