Kilkenny Council calling on government to address dirt-clogged rivers and streams

Houses in some areas of Kilkenny are being damaged due to dirt-clogged rivers and streams.
That’s according to Fine Gael Councillor, Pat Dunphy, who is calling on Environment Minister Alan Kelly to provide funding to local authorities for the upkeep of these waterways.
Councillor Dunphy will be raising the matter with his council colleagues at a meeting next week.
Speaking to KCLR News, he says that many problems are being caused as a result of a build-up of dirt and silt in streams.
