A south Kilkenny councillor is calling on Oireachtas members to unite in lobbying the Minister and Transport Infrastructure Ireland to progress the N24 Waterford to Chair Scheme.
Pat Dunphy’s comments were made during last evening’s Piltown Municipal District meeting where he said it wasn’t good enough that people have been left in limbo.
Last November a preferred route for one of the country’s most dangerous roads was put to public consultation but that’s as far as it’s gone (updates here).
And Cllr Dunphy wants Oireachtas members in the region to come together and push for some progress to be made telling KCLR News; “I think this is all down now to the Oireachtas members in the south east getting together, regardless of party, because this is important to everyone and to actually put pressure on the TII and the Minister to put this road back on for Phase 3 and keep going with it, it’s badly needed, there’s too many dangerous spots on it, too many accidents on it”.
