Kilkenny Councillor wants fines introduced for removal of life-rings

There’s outrage locally about the removal of life-saving equipment from the banks of the River Nore.

Councillor Joe Malone says he counted 4 life-buoys missing from along the canal in the city yesterday.

He has since been told they will be replaced today.

But he says its unacceptable for anyone to remove them and he wants fines introduced.
