Councillors in Kilkenny are to meet next month to discuss rising rents and housing in general.
Members raised concerns at their monthly meeting yesterday on foot of a rent review that is currently underway.
Councillor Pat Fitzpatrick says he has been contacted by people who are facing rent hikes of more than 100 percent -something he says that is unacceptable.
A special meeting will be held in April to discuss the matter.
