The controversy surrounding the Central Access Scheme in Kilkenny continues.
Work has started on the new bridge although those campaigning against it have been preventing access to the site with a 24/7 protest.
A small group of them will be received by councillors at the monthly meeting of the local authority next Monday.
Meanwhile Fianna Fail councillors have outlined their stance on the matter saying they are unable to stop the bridge project from going ahead.
Mayor Andrew McGuinness says it would cost a lot of money to halt it now.
