Insufficient information was provided by the energy company hoping to develop a wind farm at Ballyfasy, just outside Mullinavat.
At a special meeting held on Thursday, Kilkenny County Council recommended the refusal of Manogate Ltd’s planning application to develop 10 wind turbines and associated works.
However, the ultimate decision will rest with An Coimisiún Pleanála in June or July of this year.
Speaking to KCLR News, local Councillor Ger Frisby outlined why he believed the Council reached that conclusion.
“Scales and drones and photos of what they are proposing were not in line with what we would have seen on the ground.” said Mr Frisby.
“They were skewed and distorted really, so that is part of the insufficient information that the council have honed in on, that is probably the developer’s way of pushing these things forward, there was a rosy tent on them.” he added.
