Mayor Andrew McGuinness, says; “Call one of this funding scheme was a great success. This fund is supporting a number of really innovative and interesting events that are taking place over the summer and which are encouraging residents of the city and county to experience the night time economy in the earlier part of the week. It is also an opportunity for many of the tourists to sample the Kilkenny City nightlife in a varied way which is supporting local businesses and organisations”.

Night Time Economy Advisor for Kilkenny City, Conor Sweeney is encouraging applicants to put forward proposals that can be sustainable in the longer term and says;  “The quantity and quality of applications under Call 1 demonstrated the level of interest there is in Kilkenny City to enhance its offering and embrace its status as a pilot city for the Night Time Economy. Equally, the demand for these events have been quite strong from the public to date. I am encouraging applicants for this round of funding to put forward proposals that they wish to trial during the Autumn and Winter months with the support of funding but which could become embedded within their calendar of events in the longer term”.
